(5:53 PM) | Adam Kotsko:
A Modest Proposal
How about for the University without Condition, we read "The Library of Babel" by Jorge Luis Borges for a discussion to begin March 15 (it's relatively short -- for bonus points, track it down and read it in Spanish; link via Cap'n Pete), and read "Force of Law" by Jacques Derrida for April 5? I would need Jared Woodard* or some enterprising young volunteer to make "Force of Law" available to us within the next week or two (as a sidenote, I'd like to remark that Jared has been on a roll for the past couple posts, even drawing the reclusive and antisocial Lars Iyer of Spurious out of hiding for a comment). I'll wait a couple days for any objections, and if there aren't any, then that will be the plan.
*Yes, I know Jared is going by à Gauche now, but I doubt that referring to him by his actual name every now and then will clutter up his Google profile too much.
