(9:04 PM) | Adam Kotsko:
On the Verge
Tomorrow night, my semester substantially ends. This summer, I still need to rewrite the paper I wrote for the Empire seminar and construct a Derrida paper of some length, but I should be done with both of those tasks (as well as finally sending in my Bonhoeffer paper to be considered for publication) within a month or so.
Now, because of various deep psychological problems I have, I would like to list a couple things I hope to achieve this summer.
- Learn to read French. There is a summer intensive reading course at U of C beginning June 15, and after that I plan on reading as much French as possible during what remains of the summer (and of course keep up on it as much as possible during the semester).
- Make some headway into my vast stockpile of unread books.
- Seriously investigate finding a new blogging platform.
- Save up some money.
- Take time out for me.
I believe I'm also going to participate in creating some kind of Bible study at my parish. I know it sounds suspiciously like the techniques of generic "church growth"-style Evangelical Republicanism, but the nice thing about Catholics is that they know they don't know anything about the Bible.
