(5:48 PM) | Richard McElroy:
Thanksgiving came early this year
After 8 months of marriage the wife has finally decided to leave me for another man, so I have some time to post. Before she left we watch a movie called "Pieces of April". I believe that this is now in the running for my favorite holiday movie of all time. It is an independant film about who is at best disliked by her family attempting to prepare Thanksgiving dinner for them almost out of obligation to her mother who is teminally ill. To tell you the truth I didn't really know the plot before watching the movie, and writing that short plot summary the movie sounds pretty lame, but it's really not. The film shows the struggle to be accepted by the ones you are supposed to love even when you don't want anything to do with them. I highly recommend it. By the way Kari didn't really leave me for good, she has gone to be with her sister who is about to have a little boy(the man I mentioned above). In other news, our rental life is a huge mess right now. We are happy with Netflix, but we have been shown a couple of other options we had previously not considered. Because of an addiction to the show 24 we didn't know we had, the netflix movies couldn't come fast enough for us to view the entire 2nd season. We went to our local Blockbuster and were told that what we were going to spend was equivalent to just signing up for their "flip pass". This allows you to have 2 movies out at the same time as long as you want. So you can see how it was getting confusing. Well then I was on www.blockbuster.com and noticed they are doing the netflix thing for 2 dollars cheaper. Shit. I'm sure that we will pray about God's will in this matter and make the right decision though. I guess this last paragraph is shit and garbage.
