Another Doomsday Scenario Diverted
As of this writing, they have not postponed or cancelled the election due to worries about terrorist activities. I suppose it's only 6:23, and they could still pull it off -- just like they could theoretically still somehow manage to scrounge up bin Laden -- but it would appear to be one more paranoid worst-case scenario averted.Now hopefully the "legal wrangling" will also not actually take place, and we will have an orderly election that will not necessitate a violent bloodbath.
UPDATE: BUT in case the "legal wrangling" does take place, I endorse the following course of action on the part of the American people:
- Establish mob rule in every major city. Shut the place down entirely. The military cannot kill off all its own citizens, and as we know, a lot of the military is tied down in Iraq and just generally sucks at urban warfare in any case.
- This can go on for a couple months, until some leaders start to emerge.
- These leaders can then call for a new constitutional convention.
