(10:16 PM) | Adam Kotsko:
Productivity Plus
Lately I have been afraid of leaving my house, but I ventured to the Regenstein Library today, an outcropping of modern architecture in the charming medieval setting of the University of Chicago. While there, I read a book in its entirety (Paul among Jews and Gentiles by Krister Stendahl -- admittedly, not a very long book), read through Philippians closely a couple times and answered the questions we are supposed to do for class (which I skipped today -- see the first sentence of my post), and entered the "stacks" for the first time (oh my God, so many books) in a search for Barth's commentary on Philippians. Even though I am entitled to take their books home with me, the guy at the circulation desk wouldn't let me take it. I have it on 24 hour reserve -- or maybe they'll discover that CTS students don't have access to little slips of paper! Anyway, that was my startling productivity for today. I totally shouldn't feel guilty for not having a job.Since getting back, I have ... yeah, I don't even remember. Sat here and waited for my Bloglines notifier to go off again? I did read this post from Wealth Bondage.
There is something to be said for leaving one's house after all. Of course, today I was super-motivated due to my guilt at having skipped class for no valid reason and sleeping until 11:00 (after going to bed at 11:00). Or maybe I only really hit my stride when I have 12 hours of sleep. Perhaps some experimentation is in order?
Oh, also -- no book recommendations from me tomorrow. Anthony has the power and authority to do so, and I even sent Amish Lovelock an invitation to do it, in a so-far failed bid to trick him into membership in The Weblog. While we're on the topic, let's congratulate Anthony for his new administrative powers, which means that I don't have to coordinate Sovereignty Week! Huzzah! Pretty soon, I won't even have to post at all, except for those times when I do like ten in a row and totally remove any trace that there are other co-bloggers here. But I am indeed just one among the lowly co-bloggers here at The Weblog. I pay the bills (I think -- I can't remember the last time my ISP actually sent me an invoice), I provide the means for all the medical-oriented spam that many of you are probably receiving, and I reap the massive motherfucking profits of the Google Ads and Amazon Partnership (so far: $0.00 in my pocket).
Man, when is Adam Robinson going to post something? I guess his wireless card is broken? Yeah, go to the library.
