(2:06 PM) | Adam Kotsko:
Wishes do come true
In these hard economic times, I'm sure all of us are continually thinking, "Man, I sure hope someone unexpectedly sends me money in the mail." I'm here to testify today that this can happen: the phone company I was using back in Bourbonnais has informed me that I am entitled to a refund of $31.84 on my account. Why, you might ask, am I only learning this ten months after I cancelled the account? I don't know, but that's not important -- the important thing is that I am sharing in the American Dream of getting a small amount of free money in the mail, which I actually paid out before and could have been earning at least some interest on this whole time.
