My Career Trajectory
After I finish my PhD, I'm going to work as a stock trader for a year. The base salary alone will more than pay off even the most pessimistic amount of student loans. Then after that, I'll remain a stock trader and make all kinds of money -- so that I can give it to the poor, after I die.In other news, just now I answered the back door and this cat suddenly darted into the apartment! It was a "neighborhood cat" who hangs around in our yard all the time, and he seemed pretty domesticated. He just ran to the dining room and hid under the table, and he didn't even scratch at me when I picked him up to put him back in the hall. A+H's cats took the whole incident in stride -- even the psycho/existentialist cat seemed befuddled rather than angry.
