Friday Afternoon Confessional: In and for itself
I confess that enough people have found it already that I might as well tell everyone: the cutting-edge new blog is An und für sich. I confess that the title consolidates my habit of reflexive naming, negates it, and takes it to a higher dialectical level. We have a few posts up already, though I anticipate less frequent posting there than we have been accustomed to at The Weblog. Current staff members are me, Anthony, Brad, and Amish.I confess that Wordpress is extremely cool and much better than Blogger will ever be. Pure CSS! No rebuilds! No publishing the blog and watching it sit at 0% for eight hours! I confess that I might have been happy if I'd gone into computer science instead of whatever it is I'm doing now -- but I'm also happy now.
I confess that I appear to have an ingrown hair in my beard region and don't know what to do about it. I confess that I'm really tired of spending money.
I confess that whenever I don't have plans for the evening and my roommate is out of the house, I always anticipate getting a lot of reading done or something, but mainly just end up sitting around. I confess that I don't understand how I get any work done, considering the amount of time I waste. Is sleeping nine hours a night and frittering away twelve additional hours on the Internet really the price I have to pay for academic productivity? If so, is it sustainable?
I confess that I'm trying to make a mix right now but finding it to be one of the greatest challenges I've ever faced. I confess that there are two songs that I put on basically every mix I make.
