(7:30 PM) | Adam Kotsko:
Me: Computer nerd?
I just switched to Mozilla. Hopefully this will resolve my problem with Lycos popping up every time I click on the search results for Google.
It is but one more step along my long, winding path back to Linux. First, I must finish my Derrida paper -- there is no reason to disrupt my natural rhythms before completing that crucial text. Then, and only then, will I find out whether AbiWord is "ready for prime time." My gut tells me no, but my heart hopes I will be able to say yes. My liver is undecided, and my spleen thinks I should just stick with Word.
My hair abstains; it is busy falling out. Over the last week, I have developed an irrational fear that my hair is falling out. People assure me that it is not and that my maternal grandfather's full head of hair should confirm that a full head of hair is my destiny -- but tell that to my irrational brain.
UPDATE: Firefox is wonderfully fast, but the e-mail client is much too slow. Going back to Outlook Express doesn't seem to be an option, however, since it's apparently a cesspool of viruses waiting to happen. Does anyone have any recommendation for an e-mail client other than pine?
