(1:02 PM) | Adam Kotsko:
"Repeating Wesley"
That's the title of the paper that I just found out I will be presenting at the Wesleyan Theological Society in March. The goal is to provide some background on Badiou, particularly his reappropriation of Paul, and to see whether Wesley might provide a similar model for the militant. I am very glad to learn that my proposal has been accepted, because I was worried that I wouldn't have anything to do over Christmas break.I see a lot of familiar names on the schedule -- Dave and Jodi Blecher, David Dunn, Nate Kerr -- so many that I wonder why they didn't subtitle this year's conference "The Olivet Reunion Tour."
The Weblog's Derrida Tribute Week will continue later this evening with a post on an unexpected use of Derrida's thought in popular culture. Anthony has promised a post on Tuesday, and I have a translation prepared for Thursday. If Adam Robinson or Tara would like to lay claim to Wendesday, then we'd have the full week covered, up until the climactic Derridean confessional on Friday. If not, I suppose I could do a liturgy.
