(6:57 PM) | Adam Kotsko:
The Adjunctification of the Blogosphere
I have followed through on my threat to remove the list of contributors. To me, that seemed to be the best way of avoiding the two-pronged problem of blog contributor guilt: persons on the list of official contributors feel bad for shirking their perceived obligation to post; I annoy them by (almost involuntarily) asking them when they're going to post every time I see them. This also solved the problem raised by the distinction between guest contributor and permanent contributors -- from now on, with the exception of me, everyone is a guest contributor. This does not mean that contributorship is conditional upon performance; as the host, I have to take final responsibility for the upkeep of this page (and I will reap the vast benefits of the ad program, which I notice that you bastards are not clicking on very often lately!). Those who wish to post more (as Anthony was doing until recently) should view their "responsibility" as nothing more than helping to keep all the other guests entertained, informed, and edified.(As a sidenote, if you have had the ability to post here in the past, you still have it unless I have specifically told you that you have been removed. Feel free to take advantage of that ability as often or seldom as you wish.)
