Agamben Update
Doug Johnson (Old) forwards me the following correspondance with Stanford University Press:Doug writes: The release date for the translation of Agamben's book on Paul (The Time That Remains) has been pushed back several times already. The latest date I see now is August 15th. As that date fast approaches, is it likely that we will actually have a book release, or is there a possibility of a further delay? They've had it in French translation since April of 2004. And as I look on Fnac, there are several other Agamben books that we don't appear to have, either. So I join with The Young Hegelian in wondering what exactly has happened to the translation business.
The Stanford representative replies: The Time That Remains will be published in October. Our apologies for the confusion.
Perhaps some type of online translation collective, somewhat on the Wikipedia model, would be appropriate -- the problem would be in making it CV-able, I suppose.
