(11:42 AM) | Dave Belcher:
Home for the heteronomous | "Get a job — and some human rights!" Friday, November 04, 2005(11:42 AM) | Dave Belcher: Black Theology and Womanist Theology in Dialogue: James ConeFor those interested, James Cone will be giving a lecture tonight at a conference on Black Theology and Womanist Theology at the Martin Marty Center at the University of Chicago. If you live in the Chicago area and are a theologian, you are without excuse: you must come. All those who are interested in social justice, or sexism, racism, classism should also come, though your absence is somewhat excusable. His talk is entitled: "How Long Oh Lord? The Future of BT-WT Dialogue in Church and Academy." All of the lectures at this conference have been designed such that one womanist theologian and one black theologian will speak on the same topic--in other words, it is designed as an intentional dialogue. Cone will be preceded by Iva Caruthers, whose address has the same title as Cone's. I suggest those who are going get together somehow. Blogger is being an ass, so I can't post the link for some reason. Let me try again: http://marty-center.uchicago.edu/conferences/theology_in_dialogue/schedule.shtml |
