Monday Picture Blogging: Capital in Lithographs
I took some pictures out of the best illustrated edition of Capital that just happens to be at the used bookstore I 'work' at. I must apologize for the blurriness of the images; I'm still learning how to use the camera. I think you'll agree these are great drawings. If people are interested I can take a picture of each picture in the book. This is the cover, which the owners covered with one of those crinkly plastic covers to protect it causing a mean glare. I love how defined and powerful the workers look.
I always wondered how Karl managed such a beard.
This totally makes sense if you read the page verso.
Alan Greenspan before doing blow with Ayn Rand.
If it wasn't blurry and you could read the verso, this would totally make sense too!
This image is a great example of the affinities these lithographs share with Japanese tattooing (Amish, am I wrong?).
I would say this is the true face of Capitalism but Le Colonel Chabert would be all over my ass with pictures of dead Haitians. Rightly so.
I think I will make this into a shirt.
