A Quick Fix
My favorite way to deal with a hangover is to make the following drink:
- 10 oz. ginger ale
- 2-4 dashes aromatic bitters, to taste
- ice
- a non-judgmental cup or glass
This is also good for upset tummies. And it has a distinctive enough taste such that, over time, positive associations build up - lazy recuperative Sundays, the mixological doting of one's friends and lovers - and the drink becomes a cure for any general unhappiness whatsoever.
Well, I'm overselling it. But you should always keep a small bottle of bitters on hand.
