Pleated Pants
Why do I own so many pairs thereof? Why is there a style of pants that, by its very nature, seems not to fit properly?I am presently going through my closet, throwing out most of the last remnants of the midwestern "you'll grow into it" chic. I believe that I am well past my final growth spurt -- though I must admit that the technique works up to a certain point: some stuff that I got in high school now finally fits. Suit jackets in particular seem to have held up well. Those who know me in real life will be shocked to learn that I own four.
But anyway, I'm getting some strong messages that pleated pants are awful, but I'd feel strangely vulnerable, getting rid of all but one of my pairs of dress pants. (Although the remaining pair is remarkable -- they never fail to elicit compliments, and I got them for $5.)
