Another Point about Torture
Bob Hebert writes about torture, continuing his long streak of addressing the most important issues while being almost completely ignored. His arguments were familiar to me, and they are more than enough to convince any reasonable person that torture should never be allowed.I did think of an additional point, however -- at some point, these "bad apples" are going to return to civilian life. A good number of them will likely go into some form of law enforcement. Do you really want someone who sodomized a prisoner with a broomstick, forced a prisoner to howl like a dog while urinating on him, etc., etc., putting handcuffs on you?
