A wake for a friend
I had planned to do a post about the will-to-power and Kant for today and tomorrow but I actually had to do work at work and tomorrow I am going to a wake to support my friend who lost her dad to cancer on Tuesday night. This was one of those relationships where you are friends with your friends parents and her dad was someone I liked a great deal. He was a philosophy professor for some time before his body started becoming cancerous and though he worked in the analytic tradition I always enjoyed being around him. It's times like this you realize how bad our language is at dealing with death and I always try and remain as silent as possible, praying the whole time for some kind of peace.
