(4:19 PM) | Adam Kotsko:
Campaign Question
So exactly how fucked is Kerry? To what precise degree has his campaign so far been shit? Does he have merely very little chance of victory, or no chance? Have the campaign people who decided that Kerry should run on his service in Vietnam already scheduled their ritual suicide, or are they keeping the timing a surprise?Do the Democrats regret nominating someone who is so "establishment" that he is implicated to a large degree in the very things for which Bush should be most intensely criticized?
I realize that this post backs off from my previous "Kerry is inevitable" stance, and I apologize for that. I'm still voting for the guy, but the argument in favor of his douche-baggery is growing stronger and stronger. I'm hoping he'll prove me wrong, but he has thus far given me no reason to believe he will.
UPDATE: As of right now, Kerry is ahead in the Electoral College. In fact, he has so many electoral votes that he doesn't even need to carry the two states that are tied (including Florida).
Since we don't know for sure if al-Qaeda is going to attack on Election Day, maybe we should just do the election this Tuesday.
