Dear Terrorists,
We really need to talk. Everyone understands that you are upset. Who wouldn't be! You've been displaced, your homelands under foreign occupation and generally you've been given the shaft by bigger, more powerful countries. You may have even reached out to the international community for help and been met with the cold shoulder of rationality. I, and I venture to say all of us here at the Weblog, feel for you and hope for your freedom.In fact, I know there are lots of little, but resilient, groups of people out there working to convince people in power to condemn the actions of those occupying armies and to apply pressure to change the situation. But you aren't helping them, or yourselves, when you take over a fucking school and kill children! Seriously, what the fuck were you thinking? "Oh, I know how to get Russia to leave our country. We'll take over a school and threaten their children with bombs strapped to our bodies! This is a great plan that will surely lead our people to victory and to peace!" Well, assuming that is what you thought, you were really wrong.
See in the rest of the world powerful corporations run the news media and when your occupiers do something violent it makes, maybe, page 12D in the New York Times. When you do something violent, even if it is to a far lesser extent, it's on the front page of the International News section. And when you do something really violent (and stupid like this school thing) it makes the front, fucking page. You are making yourselves look like real assholes. Only assholes take over fucking schools and kill school children or bomb those residential areas from bombers and 'happen' to hit schools. The only problem is, and you really need to start considering, the international community doesn't really hear about the other assholes. This means when they do something an asshole would do it looks justified in relation to all the asshole things you do.
A little advice - stop being assholes. I know this may suck but do something non-violent for a change. Start using the money you make from all those terrorists fund-raiser on something, I don't know, a little less stupid. Perhaps you could buy some major ad time on a network show. Convince Stephen Spielberg or Michael Moore to make a documentary about the plight of your people. Education really does make a fucking difference. Stop trying to use the same old tactics that have failed for millennia to bring peace. I, of course, don't know how hard it is to watch your children and family suffer the way you have but what you are doing isn't going to help. Please realize how much power you do have as a victim. Please stop killing others people's children in retribution. Please.
