The Derrida Debates
Sean McCann argues that Derrida is an apocalyptic thinker (somewhat contrary to what I said earlier), and I respond in a long comment. Anthony also has several comments in there before mine, as do many, many others.
The "two groups of three" that I refer to are as follows:- Speech and Phenomenon
- Writing and Difference
- Of Grammatology
- Margins of Philosophy
- Dissemination
- Positions
(I might be wrong on Positions, but I can't think of what other book it would be.) The #7 to this 6 is Glas, which may help to explain why people act as though Derrida dropped off the face of the earth after the Canonical Six. Of course, asking people to read more than six books is kind of a bit much.
