(9:57 PM) | Adam Kotsko:
The Weblog-Along Gang
Anthony's most recent comment led me to think -- Brad Johnson has become the proverbial "nice one" out of our little Webloggian circle (though apparently not in all circles:So I got to thinking -- what does this remind me of? Oh, I know: The Get-Along Gang (link to a video of their theme song, the tune of which I remembered, and sang, before tracking this down, as Anthony can attest). Here is an episode guide to the show, and a page offering the following summary:
Anyway the gang was made up of a variety of animals, all of whom seemed to be in their early teens. The basic message of The Get-Along Gang was that even though people—or rather animals—are different, they can all still "get along".This has been our nostalgia for today.
Each character possessed a certain character flaw that often hampered his or her friendships. Woolma Lamb, for example, was extremely vain, while Dotty Dog could be very careless. Even Montgomery Moose, (the leader of the group) was known to be clumsy at times. Nevertheless, by the end of each episode, the gang would naturally overcome their differences and realise how lucky they were to have each other.
The gang often came up against opposition from truly unfriendly characters, like Catchum Crocodile and Leland Lizard.
