The Greatest Pun in the History of Puns

Dominic Fox links to a post about the lack of reading among undergraduates.
Le Colonel Chabert continues to be off-putting, but since she insulted me less than she insulted the Long Sunday crew, I am taking that as a gesture of friendship and have accordingly reinstated her to the blogroll. (She was originally removed after a discussion about Agamben and Holocaust denial -- not to pick at old scabs.) [UPDATE: I have now re-removed her; the couple hours on the blogroll seems to me to have been equal in magnitude to her gesture of friendship. Those wishing to find her blog will have to run a Google search for "self-congratulatory circle-jerks between Patrick Mullins and Le Colonel Chabert."]
Ogged links to a wonderful interview with George Galloway. If there were more elected Democrats like him, I would feel a little less need to wash my hands after voting for them.
Also, Jodi Dean's book is very nearly out. As Amish Lovelock says in comments, it looks to be easily the best book on Zizek to come out thus far.
And finally, don't forget to read the latest installment in Amish Lovelock's series on food. If anyone else has an idea for a series, I'd be interested to discuss it -- I'm not hoping for a blog that is nothing but regular series, but having a couple more ongoing features seems like a good idea. Maybe after two years of only one person doing them, the series could become established enough that other people could start writing them, too.
But no pressure.
