(1:13 PM) | Adam Kotsko:
Recruitment
[UPDATE: I am leaving for the weekend, so there will be no posts from me until Tuesday, at which point I will try to get the author's name to show up on the recent posts. Until then, I humbly ask all my co-bloggers to set up their Blogger profile, making sure to fill in their first and last name in the separate fields provided (not simply "name"), as per Jared Sinclair's instructions.]
I am so pleased with our recent success at being more of a group blog (rather than strictly my blog, with occasional posts from someone else) that I am even thinking of recruiting some more people. Potential candidates:
- Adam Robinson: clearly, he feels bad for not being as active lately (due to factors beyond his control). If he wrote for The Weblog, there would be less pressure to write all the time, since someone else could always pick up the slack. I would even incorporate The Pickle's archives into our archive page.
- à Gauche: he's been on the agenda for my hegemonic blogist vision for a while, but the picture of Lenin alone makes me hesitant to even suggest he give up his own personal blogging space.
- Virgil William Brower: I've always enjoyed his writing, though he appears to take approximately twenty years per paper. It would be interesting to see what he'd write in a more instantaneous setting. His knowledge of masochism would be an asset.
- Tara Smith, née Thomas: Adding the perspective of someone who is (a) basically outside the masturbatory realm of academia and (b) working in a job that involves helping people in real need would be very valuable. (Anthony Smith, no relation, meets the second standard but not the first.)
- Lars Iyer: Now that he has cut down his production schedule somewhat, he might be well served by joining a group. (I don't know if it would work out to have him and Adam Robinson of "Spurious is a Botard" fame on the same blog, though.) One of his recent posts is very good -- a little less depressed, a little less allusive, one of the kinds of pieces I always enjoyed finding when he was more active.
