Loserliness: A Review of Fox Sunday Night
The very best way to celebrate Patriot Day was, of course, to watch the new season of Fox Sunday Night -- including new episodes of
The Simpsons,
Family Guy, and
American Dad. (They also debuted the show
The War at Home, which looked so bad from the previews that I proposed turning off the TV and putting a sheet over it while that show was on. Instead, we ended up watching another channel.) I've got to say -- though the two flagships were hilarious, the real prize last night was
American Dad. Part of this is probably just the surprise of having the show be
actually funny after such a terrible first season, but last night really seemed to work, particularly when the fish was doing the "DVD commentaries." It's going to take four or five more solid episodes to begin the process of redeeming for the absolute suckosity of the first season, but this is a promising beginning.
