Amish Lovelock has requested a post about the fact that Harold Pinter won the Nobel Prize, but I'm ashamed to say that I'm not at all familiar with Pinter's work. Yet reading the accounts of his strident opposition to the Iraq War, I can't help but think that in recent years, the Nobel committee has been using its international platform in part to say to Bush and to all the architects of American imperialism: "Art itself says no to you.
