An All-American Reading Group?
Why do all the reading groups in this corner of the blogosphere have to be about Nazis and messianic Marxists and Maoists? And why always Europeans? Why not have a reading group on something patriotic and American? Why not apply our degenerate, left-wing, America-hating, probably gay minds to something edifying? Like, for instance, THE FEDERALIST PAPERS?!I was thinking it would be nice and symbolic to begin the reading group on the fourth of July, but we could start earlier. Although the first paragraph was stupid, this is a serious idea and probably something that "people like us" need to do -- I have long suspected that it would be much more "subversive" to return to the Founding Fathers than to St. Paul or Augustine.
