Home for the heteronomous | "Get a job — and some human rights!" Saturday, January 19, 2008UnionsWith the writers strike and now the recent controversy over the casino workers in Nevada, my mind has naturally turned more toward unions. It seems to me that many young liberals are totally on board for "social justice" and environmental concerns, but are ambivalent at best about unions. Why? What's not to like about labor unions? This is a serious question: I literally don't understand why someone of liberal leanings would be skeptical about unions. |
