Presidential Prayer Team
I followed Adam's humorously placed link out of curiosity. It lead me to read the following text:
Pray for the President and Mrs. Bush, their daughters Jenna and Barbara and other family members as they gather at the ranch in Crawford, TX for the Easter holiday. Pray for times of refreshment and renewal as well as the blessings of rich family togetherness.
I had to read it a couple times to make certain that the author wasn't trying to be funny. Let me show this again, adding the emphasis I thought they were trying to put in.
Pray for times of refreshment and renewal as well as the blessings of rich-family togetherness.
Still though, if anyone could use Christ's peace during this holiday of rememberance and renewal, it's the First Family. Maybe if they had a chance to cool their collective heels, renew, restore, or discover their consciences, they could look at American's Foreign Policy in a different, healthier light.
I don't want to fall into the liberal camp of just having fun hating Bush and pissing and moaning for the sheer thrill of it. I don't think the man is beyond the ability to do good work. I also think that liberals are currently vindicated in their self-righteous denouncement - the current president does seem to be a moron hell-bent on screwing over the present generation and their descendants. That being said, I have a little more faith in the Republican party to want to protect its middle class - if nothing else.
