(8:22 AM) | Adam Kotsko:
Tuesday Hatred 17
I hate that no one ever wants to discuss the fact that when asked to pick a random number, people most often seem to pick prime numbers.I hate how hard it is to concentrate on studying at home; I also hate how far away the nearest academic library is. I hate that the Regenstein stores volumes 1 and 2 of Origen's commentary on Romans in completely different places. I hate being behind my own self-imposed schedule, which I always am.
I hate not being able to find a comfortable position for reading. Even worse, I hate those odd positions that feel comfortable for about a minute and a half, after which I must go searching again, usually ending up with a series of such positions. Furthermore, I enjoy reading with a cat on my lap, but I hate it when they trap me in an uncomfortable position.
I hate chess games where the endgame takes 15 years because the person who is obviously going to win nonetheless can't figure out a quick way to achieve checkmate. (Do professional chess players yell "Checkmate" when they reach climax?)
I hate blowing my nose. I hate waking up at 3:00am completely stuffed up. I hate not being able to fall back asleep until 4:00am, still without having regained the use of both nostrils.
I hate being bad at relationships.
UPDATE: I hate the idiotic text that Atrios puts in the body of his "open thread" posts.
UPDATE (2): I absolutely hate and despise the smell of popcorn. It gives me a headache and makes me feel nauseous.
